This exclusive cask selection from local bar Club Qing exemplifies yet another outstanding early 2000s Irish single malt. A hallmark of Irish whiskey lies in its triple distillation method (in contrast to the double distillation typical of Scottish whisky). This process produces a spirit richer in ethanol, which is inherently flavorless, thereby necessitating prolonged maturation and lively oak casks to infuse depth and complexity. It's widely held that Irish whiskey boasts more vivid matured fruit aromas than its Scottish peers—a perception especially apt for bottlings distilled from the late 1980s to early 1990s, though less definitive across other periods. Part of the enchanting Fairy Tale Series, this expression was distilled in 2002 at one of Ireland's premier whiskey distilleries and aged for 18 years in a bourbon cask. While the distillery's identity remains veiled, only three were active in Ireland that year: Cooley, New Midleton, and Old Bushmills—assuring its provenance from this esteemed trio.
 
Tasting Note
Nose: Waxed lemons lead into a vibrant array of citrus fruits, bay leaf, subtle thyme, and classic undertones of freshly cut grass and floral vase water. With water: a hint of spearmint emerges alongside herbal teas and delicate white flowers.
 
Palate: Lemon barley water unfolds with faint echoes of cough syrup, sweet breakfast cereals, and a harmonious backdrop of exotic fruit salad juices. With water: shifts toward pronounced cereal elements, becoming drier overall, with heightened peppery notes, bread-like warmth, and shoe polish nuances.
 
Finish: Medium in length, leaving subtle citrus and exotic fruit impressions in the aftertaste.

來自本地酒吧 Club Qing 的包桶作品，simply another very good early 2000s Irish single malt。愛爾蘭威士忌其中一個特色是其使用三次蒸餾法（蘇格蘭威士忌通常使用二次蒸餾法）。三次蒸餾法製造的原酒含有較多的乙醇，而乙醇本身並無味道，因此愛爾蘭威士忌通常需要較多時間熟成及較活躍的橡木桶以提供豐富的味道。大眾普遍認為愛爾蘭威士忌的熟果香較蘇格蘭威士忌明顯，這觀點於80年代末至90年代初蒸餾的愛爾蘭威士忌頗為準確，但其它年代則難以確定。這瓶 Fairy Tale Series 由愛爾蘭威士忌其中一間蒸餾廠於2002年蒸餾，於波本桶中熟成18年。雖然蒸餾廠名稱不公開，但在2002年愛爾蘭只得3間蒸餾廠運作：Cooley, New Midleton, 及 Old Bushmills。因此肯定是其中一間的出品。
 
Tasting Note
